Abjadistan

Is a city state that has been dealt a hard blow after internal tensions escalated into a full blown war.

To this day no one truly knows how the various creeds and parties managed to find themselves so heavily armed and turning from tribes to militias almost overnight. After years of conflicts, with no clear winner in sight, a peace was finally brokered, sponsored by foreign city states, they  put in place a transitional government and take control of the center.

The government managed to disarm most of the militias and integrate a lot of the fighters in a newly created police force in an attempt to create, a somewhat functional unity. However, the sponsors, having their interests at heart and a somewhat incomplete knowledge of the complexity of the situation, allowed this transitional government to rule without truly representing the proportional creeds and affiliations the population it was ruling is made up. As long as they were getting what they needed, which was a steady supply of bananas from Abjadistan’s fertile lands at a great price, it was a necessary evil that lead to a dramatic increase in corruption that the citizens have now fallen victims of.
